Real money

At one of our seminars this week where we were talking about a trillion this and a trillion that, a wise man in the audience reminded us all that it wasn’t long ago the word was rarely used in money ‘speak’.  For perspective he challenged the audience to guess how long a million seconds was (11.5 days), then how long a billion seconds was (33 years) and then a trillion seconds (32,880 years!).  He asked the audience how the US printing over $1 trillion per year or Japan nearly $1 trillion per year is not making paper currency worth less and less every day.  Remember you can’t print gold and silver with the push of a button; it’s hard to mine, has unique properties and is in limited supply.  It is REAL money, has been for thousands of years, will be for thousands more.
