German Hyperinflation of the 1920’s


The chart shows how many ‘Marks’ to buy an ounce of Gold during the early 1920’s, note that mild deflation kept the gold price steady but then deflation very quickly turned into hyperinflation as the public lost faith in the currency due to over printing.
